Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special school in Haywards Heath. The school caters to students with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC). As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students in their learning activities, creating a safe and inclusive environment, and working closely with teachers and therapists.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and EHCPs.
  • Support students in their learning activities and encourage participation.
  • Help to create a safe, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff members.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, understanding their individual needs and strengths.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with young people with SEMH difficulties or autistic spectrum conditions is highly desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
