Pensions Technical Specialist Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Pensions Technical Specialist to join our team at Capita Pension Solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in DB pensions, strong technical skills, and excellent communication abilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for defining technical requirements, principles, and models that guide solution decisions for the pensions operation. You will analyze and translate business management information, key issues, and process improvement to outline solutions that integrate across pensions operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Change Management: Improve mission-critical processes aligning with the business vision.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage and manage various stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track performance targets from end-to-end and communicate through dashboards and reports.
  • Process Ownership: Ensure creation of process guides, colleague training, and benefit measurement.
  • Communication: Communicate process changes via workshops, presentations, email comms, or participating in planning activities.

Projects and Quality:

  • Lead projects connecting with all key stakeholders within departments or business areas.
  • Provide input into development/training action planning and process improvement, where necessary.
  • Enhance customer outputs quality by coaching, training, and process improvement.
  • Adapt to varying demands and workloads while ensuring tasks are completed on time with high-quality results.
  • Understand the importance of continuous improvement and identify opportunities to improve the customer experience.

Requirements:

  • Technical pensions experience in DB.
  • Strong Excel skills, including formulas, Vlookups, and bulk data manipulation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Internal and external client relationship skills.
  • Project management experience in a pensions environment.
  • DC pension experience would be beneficial.
  • Public sector pension scheme experience.

About the Opportunity:

This role offers a competitive salary, estimated to be around £50,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on location and experience. Benefits include 23 days' holiday (rising to 27) with the opportunity to buy extra leave, company-matched pension, life assurance, and more.
