We are seeking an experienced ED Nurse with a strong background in leadership and teaching to join our forward-thinking team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of organizational and leadership skills, as well as a commitment to facilitating training and education. They will also need to have a good understanding of recent developments in Emergency Nursing and be able to translate and implement this into quality nursing care.

The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high standards of care in a diverse community. They will need to have excellent leadership skills, be energetic, hardworking, proactive, and committed to their own professional development and that of others.

We are committed to providing a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics, and community-based services to our patients. Our new electronic patient record will replace paper-based patient records from 2026, leading to better, safer, joined-up care at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and beyond.

We recognize and reward our staff and volunteers, priding ourselves on a community atmosphere and positive team spirit. We have approximately 530 beds across 33 wards and newly built education and training facilities, along with a range of modern award-winning centers.

Person SpecificationQualifications
  • Good general education
  • Registered Nurse (Level 1) or a Professional registration within health care
  • ENB 998 or equivalent
  • Degree in Nursing
  • Evidence of further continued professional development
Experience
  • Previous experience as a Band 6 grade
  • Previous experience as a shift/team leader
  • Experience of teaching students, HCAs, and qualified staff
Skills
  • Competency in IV drug administration
  • Infusion pump skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to work within a team and independently
  • Managerial and leadership ability
