About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workforce Development Coordinator to join our Quality and Assurance team at Wiltshire Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our Adult Social Care staff are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and support needed to provide exceptional support for the residents of Wiltshire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver high-quality training and development interventions for Adult Care practitioners to maintain and develop good practice across the directorate.
  • Work closely with the Principal Social Worker, Principal Occupational Therapist, and HR & OD colleagues to specify, source, implement, deliver, monitor, and evaluate quality training and development interventions.
  • Commission training from external providers and coordinate training activities organized by other services within the council or by partner agencies.
  • Support and facilitate direct learning and development activities for the workforce.
  • Identify and critically evaluate relevant research and integrate findings into training course design.
  • Produce business-focused, user-friendly reports, policy, and project documents.
Requirements
  • Relevant professional experience post-qualification in a similar work environment.
  • Expert knowledge of relevant policy, systems, work practices, professional guidelines, legislation in the area of specialism.
  • Excellent ICT skills, including use of Microsoft applications and specialist systems.
  • Proven ability to provide advice and make recommendations based on specialist knowledge of specific area.
  • Knowledge and experience of contributing to the development of policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Familiar with wider sector/external influences.
  • Detailed operational knowledge of systems in terms of functionality, capability, and availability.
  • Excellent interpersonal, persuasion, influencing, and negotiating skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, with proven ability to prioritize and coordinate workloads, monitor, and evaluate work, to ensure deadlines are achieved.
