Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lead Orthotist to join our specialist team at Blatchford. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality orthotic services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead clinically with complex cases, providing expert guidance and support to the clinical team.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise less experienced colleagues, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Provide guidance on the most appropriate clinical intervention, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
  • Lead the orthotic team in outcome measurement, using gait analysis equipment to inform clinical decision-making.
  • Assess, measure, cast, fit, supply, review, and adjust orthoses as required, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
  • Assist with presentations, seminars, training, and education at all levels, sharing your expertise with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Work within the framework provided by Blatchford to ensure cost-effective product provision, while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
  • Participate in clinical audit and research, collaborating with clinical and technical employees to drive innovation and improvement.
Requirements
  • Qualified in Prosthetics and Orthotics, with HCPC registration.
  • Member of BAPO/ISPO (desirable).
  • Experience in a wide range of orthotic provision, including paediatrics, orthopaedics, and footwear.
  • Able to prioritize and manage your own workload and that of others, ensuring seamless delivery of patient care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of communicating with colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to manage difficult, challenging, and sensitive situations, maintaining a professional and empathetic approach.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
