Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lead Orthotist to join our specialist team at Blatchford, a leading provider of orthotic services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Clinically with Complex Cases: Provide expert clinical guidance and leadership on complex orthotic cases, ensuring the highest standards of care and patient outcomes.
  • Training and Development: Train, mentor, and supervise less experienced colleagues, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Clinical Team Leadership: Lead the orthotic team in outcome measurement, including the use of gait analysis equipment, to drive continuous improvement and excellence in patient care.
  • Orthotic Service Delivery: Assess, measure, cast, fit, supply, review, and adjust orthoses as required, ensuring the highest standards of clinical practice and patient satisfaction.
  • Education and Training: Assist with presentations, seminars, training, and education at all levels, promoting the advancement of orthotic knowledge and practice.
  • Cost-Effective Service Provision: Work within the framework provided by the company to ensure cost-effective product provision, balancing clinical excellence with business objectives.
  • Clinical Audit and Research: Participate in clinical audit and research, liaising with both clinical and technical employees to drive continuous improvement and innovation in orthotic services.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Qualified in Prosthetics and Orthotics, with HCPC registration and membership of BAPO/ISPO (desirable).
  • Experience: Experience in a wide range of orthotic provision, including paediatrics, orthopaedics, and footwear.
  • Skills: Able to prioritize and manage your own workload and that of others, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of communicating with colleagues at all levels.
  • Judgment and Decision-Making: Good judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage difficult, challenging, and sensitive situations.
