Neonatal Leadership Nurse Position

We are seeking an experienced Neonatal Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team in Walsall, West Midlands. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 12 months post QIS certification experience and excellent assessment and communication skills.
Job OverviewThis is a Band 6 position within the neonatal unit at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust. The role involves demonstrating high-quality clinical skills while caring for special, high-dependency, and intensive care babies.
Responsibilities- Providing exceptional clinical leadership to the nursing team and maintaining a visible presence on the ward.
- Assuming managerial responsibility and accountability in the absence of the Lead Nurse for the Neonatal Unit, including supervision of staff and students.
- Demonstrating professional expertise and knowledge acquired through post-registration academic study and clinical development.
- Exhibiting effective management and communication skills to support staff in maintaining high standards of clinical care.
The successful candidate will be required to work long days and nights. Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust serving a population of 286,700, providing inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital and community services.
Salary InformationThe salary for this position is estimated to be around £38,890 - £46,305 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. This is a competitive salary for a Band 6 nurse in the West Midlands area.
