Data Center Engineering Manager

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a highly skilled Data Center Engineering Manager to join our team. As a Data Center Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the on-site management of engineering operations teams, ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with Amazon practices and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage engineering systems availability in both leased and colocated facilities.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve data center operations and maintenance.
- Collaborate with IT managers and other business leaders to coordinate projects and manage capacity.
- Operate and manage routine and emergency services on critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, and power distribution equipment.
- Assist in the design and build out of new facilities.
- Manage asset and inventory management.
- Deliver quality service and ensure all customer demands are met.
- Bachelor's Degree or Technical (Military/Trade School) Degree and relevant experience.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in a mission-critical environment and LSE (large scale events) management experience.
- 3+ years of people-management experience.
- Previous vendor negotiation and management skills for Data Center and/or upgrade construction contracts.
- Understanding of Electrical systems in critical Data Center operations, including utility substation feeds, transformers, switchgear, and associated systems.
- Understanding of Mechanical systems in critical Data Center operations, including CRAC/CRAHs/AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, and associated systems.
- Understanding of other facilities systems used in Data Centers and Mission critical facilities, including fire detection and suppression systems, plumbing and drainage systems, and Building Monitoring Systems.
- Certifications/Accreditations that will be viewed positively: PMP; ITIL v2/3; CAD.
