About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accommodation Team Leader to join our team at National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED). This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving performance and supporting the business with work volumes to ensure excellent customer service is delivered to our 8 million customers.

The Accommodation Team Leader will be responsible for ensuring the team's adherence to Health and Safety regulations, efficient scheduling of work activities, collaboration with other teams to manage workload, driving team productivity and individual performance management, maintaining a full schedule of work for the team, and ensuring our people have the appropriate training and work authorisations to support a safe and productive working environment.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with a proven track record of managing teams, and will be experienced in being an escalation point for both the team and external customers.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Health and Safety Management: Ensure the team's adherence to Health and Safety regulations, including the Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations 2002 and Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
  2. Work Scheduling: Efficiently schedule work activities to ensure optimal productivity and customer satisfaction.
  3. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other teams to manage workload, share best practices, and drive business outcomes.
  4. Team Performance Management: Drive team productivity and individual performance management to achieve business objectives.
  5. Schedule Management: Maintain a full schedule of work for the team, ensuring timely completion of tasks and projects.
  6. Training and Development: Ensure our people have the appropriate training and work authorisations to support a safe and productive working environment.
  7. Customer Service: Respond quickly and professionally to customer complaints, ensuring excellent customer service is delivered.
Requirements
  1. Health and Safety Knowledge: Develop a good understanding of Health and Safety legislation, including the Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations 2002 and Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
  2. Organizational Skills: Organized, with strong problem-solving and the ability to think and plan ahead.
  3. Communication Skills: Good communicator with the presence to build strong relationships with our customers.
  4. Performance Management: An understanding of and the ability to effectively manage performance.
  5. Craft Knowledge: Knowledge of craft roles or the ability/willingness to quickly develop your understanding of these roles and the work activities in your team.
  6. NRSWA Qualification: A NRSWA qualification or understanding of NRSWA legislation is desirable but full training can be provided.
