Job Title: Instrumentation and Control Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join our team at Vector Recruitment Ltd. As an Instrumentation and Control Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, installing, managing, and maintaining equipment and software on PLC and SCADA systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, install, and maintain PLC and SCADA systems
  • Develop software for communication protocols, including OPC-UA, MQTT, and Modbus
  • Work closely with life scientists, software engineers, and mechanical engineers to deliver projects
  • Collaborate with colleagues as a mentor, sharing skills and experience
  • Excellent communication skills to summarise project status and discuss critical issues/milestones with colleagues and external clients

Requirements:

  • Skills in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematic drawings
  • Degree in Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience working with PLCs in process control environments
  • Excellent knowledge of control system specification, architecture design methodologies, and familiarity with various requirements management and system modelling tools

Job Location: Cambridgeshire (Commutable from: Cambridge, Bedford, Huntingdon, St Neots, Peterborough, Stevenage, Luton, North London etc)

Salary: £60k - £80k + excellent benefits and career progression opportunities
