Radiology Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Registered Nurse to join our Interventional Radiology team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our department.
The ideal candidate will have a background or interest in radiology and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for providing evidence-based, holistic care to patients from admission to discharge within the interventional suite and other areas within the radiology department.
Key responsibilities include working as part of a multi-professional team, assisting in the nursing responsibility of an intervention room and its working list, recovery room, and main department. You will also be expected to participate in the teaching and supervision of junior staff and student nurses as required.
Main Duties of the JobThe Interventional Radiology department runs a daytime service from Monday to Friday with varying shift patterns. With training, the post holder will also be expected to provide cover for our 24-hour on-call service, including weekends and bank holidays. You will be involved in the care and management of patients having ultrasound-guided procedures, for both inpatient and day cases.
You will also be responsible for managing and coordinating the interventional suite on a daily basis, with training and support. Additionally, you will be expected to participate in the administration of intravenous conscious sedation, requiring advanced monitoring of patients during procedures.
