Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated registered nurse with a background or interest in radiology to join our motivated, friendly and supportive team in the Interventional Radiology department at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within all different clinical areas in the department, including the general and neuro angio suites, CT scan, Ultrasound and Recovery.

As part of your ongoing development, there would be the opportunity to rotate to other radiology departments such as Neuro radiology and Nuclear Medicine.

The department takes into consideration flexible working patterns in line with the Trust's policy.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Provide evidence-based, holistic care to a group of patients from admission to discharge within the interventional suite and other areas within the radiology department.
  • Work as part of a multi-professional team, assisting in the nursing responsibility of an intervention room and its working list, recovery room and main department.
  • Take responsibility for managing and coordinating the interventional suite on a daily basis.
  • Participate in the teaching and supervision of junior staff and student nurses as required.
  • Be a safe and effective practitioner, able to provide patients and relatives with high standards of quality care.

Person Specification

  • Registered Nurse (RN1) with active NMC registration at the time of starting appointment.
  • Awareness and understanding of current acute health issues.
  • Team building and working skills – able to lead a team to achieve results.
