Head of Financial Services

About the Role

We are looking for a strategic finance leader to provide expert guidance and support to our senior officers and council members. As Head of Financial Services, you will be responsible for leading a team that delivers high-quality financial services, including budget setting, treasury management, and transactional finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial advice to senior officers and council members
  • Lead a team of finance professionals to deliver high-quality financial services
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the council's goals and objectives
  • Manage the council's financial resources, including budget setting and treasury management
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards

Requirements

  • CCAB (or equivalent) accounting qualification
  • Strong leadership background with experience in managing teams through change
  • Resilient and capable of making tough decisions with integrity
  • Skilled in providing clear, strategic financial advice
