Key Responsibilities- Manage and administer major construction projects and/or multi-site projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Collaborate with clients to establish project requirements and undertake feasibility studies, providing informed recommendations.
- Prepare and review tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct cost analyses and provide expert advice on procurement strategies to optimize project outcomes.
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks, ensuring the company's interests are protected.
- Develop and implement cost control procedures, ensuring projects are delivered within budget.
- Provide expert advice on contractual claims and negotiate with clients to resolve disputes.
- Prepare and analyze costings for tenders, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing.
- Allocate work to sub-consultants and manage their performance to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Maintain awareness of industry developments and best practices, ensuring the company remains competitive.
- Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in quantity surveying, with a strong background in senior-level roles.
- Project management and employer's agent experience is essential.
- Excellent knowledge of the construction industry, including budgeting and cost control.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in quantity surveying or a related discipline.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to contribute to improving project profitability through process improvement and cost optimization.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify and mitigate risks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and outside the box.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide team members.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a strong focus on collaboration and communication.
