Senior Building Surveyor Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Building Surveyor to join our team at Access Talent Group. As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering multi-disciplinary projects from concept to construction, working collaboratively with our team to achieve excellent results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver projects to agreed targets, including programme, budget, and quality.
  • Identify and agree project objectives with the Project Director and develop a strategy for achieving these.
  • Manage potential contractual and commercial risks, escalating them to the Project Director as necessary.
  • Work with commercial managers to understand contractual obligations and negotiate amendments.
  • Set objectives and delegate tasks for the project team, ensuring risks are shared as necessary.
  • Actively manage projects, monitoring and reporting performance against programme, technical quality, financial, and KPI targets.
  • Lead the project team, building and motivating them to achieve excellent results.
  • Assemble and own the project delivery programme and delivery plans, providing regular project reports.
  • Closing out projects on completion, archiving project documentation, and ensuring lessons are learned and disseminated internally.
Requirements:
  • Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) or equivalent with experience managing design commissions on large building/infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team, demonstrating good leadership qualities.
  • Understanding and experience in deploying various forms of construction contract, particularly NEC3 and JCT.
  • Experience in preparing Scope Definition papers, Project Execution Plans, Risk Registers, Change Control Logs, and Client & Stakeholder Management plans.
  • Familiarity with BIM and 3D modelling tools for design and coordination purposes.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
