SEN Teacher

To support the Shaw Trust's Supported Internships, we are seeking a highly skilled SEN Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will work with young people with disabilities, providing training and support to help them progress on their work placements and achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit and support students with disabilities for the programme
- Plan and deliver daily classroom activities and lesson plans to achieve the Pearson's employability award
- Deliver daily classroom support in literacy and numeracy
- Work with local authorities and businesses to meet student progression and employment needs
- Provide individualised support for interns at the host business worksite placement or competitive job
- Develop professional relationships with parents to support interns
- Work with managers and co-workers to educate on disability awareness
- Train interns in areas such as personal hygiene, communication, interviewing, and behaviour
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 6 or equivalent qualification in Careers Education and Guidance, Youth and Community work, or Social Care
- Experience working with SEND young adults
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders
