Key Responsibilities:

As a Consultant Psychiatrist in Rehabilitation Psychiatry at Kent and Medway NHS & Social Care Partnership Trust, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical services and contributing to the strategic development of the team and broader services. The Kent and Medway Community Rehabilitation Service provides care for individuals residing in Maidstone, Tonbridge, Malling, Tunbridge Wells, and Sevenoaks, specializing in working with people whose long-term complex needs cannot be met by a general adult mental health service.

Main Duties:
  • Provide specialist assessment, formulation, treatment, interventions, and support to help individuals recover from complex severe mental illness and regain skills and confidence to live successfully in the community.
  • Be accessible and supportive to team members.
  • Actively participate in service/team evaluation and planning of future service developments.
  • Create a learning environment for all team members and take opportunities to offer teaching to the rehabilitation teams, partner services, and organizations, and to patients and carers.

About the Role:

The successful applicant will ideally have MRCPsych or equivalent and be on, or within six months of inclusion on, the Specialist Register. You will be fully registered with the GMC and have Approved Clinician status and S12 approval under the Mental Health Act (or achieve this within 3 months of appointment).
