As a Consultant Psychiatrist in Liaison Psychiatry, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical services and contributing to the strategic development of our team and broader services.

Our trust is a leading provider of mental health, learning disability, and specialist services to a population of 1.8 million people across Kent and Medway.

You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide psychiatric care to patients referred to our Liaison Psychiatry Service and contribute to cross-cover.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Provide psychiatric care to patients referred to the Liaison Psychiatry Service and contribute to cross-cover.
  • Provide medical expertise within the Multidisciplinary Liaison Team.
  • Act as a Responsible Clinician (Approved Clinician status) for patients detained under the MHA to the acute trust.
  • Ensure effective liaison occurs between mental health services and the acute hospital, and also with other agencies in the voluntary and statutory sectors as appropriate.
