Clinical Pharmacist for Infectious Diseases

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Highly Specialist Pharmacist to join the Infectious Diseases team working at North Manchester General Hospital. You will deliver a high-quality, patient-focused, clinical pharmacy service to inpatient and outpatient infectious diseases service users.
The ID service at NMGH is a regional specialist centre, and delivers care to a wide range of patient groups. In addition to an inpatient infectious diseases unit, we also provide outpatient clinic services, homecare services and outreach services to ensure access to our varied and often complex cohort of service users, including the largest cohort of HIV patients outside London/South East England, and one of the largest Hepatitis C treatment centres in England.
Main duties of the jobTo deliver a high-quality patient-focused clinical pharmacy service for infectious diseases and to establish effective relationships with clinical staff and other stakeholders delivering inpatient and outpatient care to our service users.
You will develop your leadership and management skills within Pharmacy, and as a senior member of the ID Pharmacy Team will be expected to deputise for the Lead Pharmacist when required.

Person SpecificationRegistration- Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacist
- Member of National/International Specialist Organisation in area of responsibility
- Vocational Masters degree (or equivalent) in Pharmacy
- One year pre-registration Training
- Successful completion of pre-registration examination
- Independent non-medical prescribing qualification
- Attendance at relevant conferences and training courses
- Extensive experience in hospital pharmacy in a clinical role
- Experience of specialist hospital pharmacy services or experience in the area of responsibility
- Demonstrates expert clinical knowledge and skills
- Sound clinical knowledge and understanding
- Research experience
- Awareness of current Government, Trust and local policies
- Previous experience in delivering training and education
- Experience of covering intensive care or high dependency patients
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Experience in delivering training and education
- Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills particularly with respect to use of medicines in complex situations
- Able to lead and act on own initiative (assertive)
- Able to organise, prioritise and meet deadlines
