Harris Academy Wimbledon is seeking a Lunchtime Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and orderly conduct of students in designated areas. Key responsibilities include undertaking direct supervision, assisting with daily decisions, supporting the safe use of equipment, and dealing with minor incidents. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the educational, social, and welfare needs of pupils in the midday break, as well as experience of supervising pupils in a relevant age setting. They will also possess good spoken and written English, the ability to encourage and inspire young people, and good organisational skills. If you are a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about supporting the development of young people, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

Main Responsibilities

* Undertake direct supervision of students in designated areas, ensuring safe and orderly conduct.
* Assist with daily decisions on areas for student use.
* Support the safe use of equipment.
* Support and supervise students in the dining area as appropriate.
* Support students who may require assistance.
* Deal with minor incidents and first aid where appropriate, referring serious incidents to Senior Lunchtime Coordinator/Principal or nominated supervisor.
* Clean up spillages or debris around the dining/play areas to ensure the maintenance of good order, discipline and safety.

Qualifications & Experience

* We would like to hear from you if you have:

1. An understanding of the educational, social and welfare needs of pupils in the midday break.
2. An understanding of the importance of the meal and break as a social and educational occasion.
3. Experience of supervising pupils (individuals or groups) in a relevant age setting.
4. Good spoken and written English.
5. The ability to encourage and inspire young people.
6. Good organisational skills.
7. The ability to work effectively with people across a wide range of levels and responsibilities.
8. The ability to judge when advice/assistance is needed to meet pupil's needs.
9. The ability to liaise with parents/carers in a professional manner observing the boundaries of the role and respecting confidential information.
