Clinical Lead for Older Adults Mental Health

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Old Age Liaison Mental Health Service. As a key member of our team, you will provide leadership and senior medical input to our service, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide consultant psychiatrist input to the Old Age Liaison Service, ensuring safe and effective care for patients.
- Act as Responsible Clinician for patients over 65 detained under the Mental Health Act, providing expert guidance and support.
- Offer specialist advice, consultation, and training to Primary Care, Secondary Mental Health Care, and Acute Teaching Hospitals, promoting integrated working and evidence-based practice.
- Liaise with colleagues to provide patient-centered care, effective joint working, and risk management, contributing to the development of our service through research and support.
- Participate in departmental and team governance, including audit, peer appraisal, CPD, appraisal, and job planning, ensuring the highest standards of care and professionalism.
- Provide supervision and training to junior medical staff, promoting their development and growth within the service.
- Contribute to postgraduate teaching and supervision of junior doctors, sharing your expertise and knowledge to support the next generation of healthcare professionals.
- Participate in continuing professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest research, guidelines, and best practices in older adults mental health.
