About the Role

Futures is looking for a skilled Mechatronics Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development of new mechatronic products and ensuring their smooth transition into production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as an expert advisor to the RD&D department in developing innovative mechatronic products.
  • Prepare detailed proposals for product development, including project timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of development programs.
  • Contribute to the design, development, and testing of electronic instrumentation and support development activities to meet agreed timescales and costs.
  • Lead and/or participate in FMEA activities to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Manage the sourcing of materials and components for prototype manufacture and maintain accurate technical documentation.
  • Ensure a seamless transition of development items into volume manufacture.
Essential Requirements:
  • Degree or L6 equivalent in Mechatronics Engineering or Electromechanical Engineering.
  • Strong design experience of mechatronic products, including electronic design and 3D CAD.
  • Sound knowledge of Project Management principles and NPD processes.
  • Excellent practical engineering skills and good workshop practice.
Estimated Salary:

We estimate the salary for this role to be around £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience.
