Job Description

Futures is seeking a highly skilled Mechatronics Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our RD&D department, you will be responsible for supporting the development of innovative mechatronic products.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the work of the RD&D department in developing industrial systems with a deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software design principles.
  • Prepare proposals for product development, including project plans, resource scheduling, and costing.
  • Liaise with suppliers and lead development programs with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Support the design, development, and testing of electronic instrumentation and perform development activities to agreed timescales and costs.
  • Lead and/or support Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activity to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Source materials and components for prototype manufacture and maintain technical documentation and reports.
  • Ensure the effective transition of development items into volume manufacture.
Requirements:
  • Degree or L6 equivalent in Mechatronics Engineering or Electromechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Design experience of mechatronic products with a strong background in electronic design and 3D CAD.
  • Understanding of Project Management principles and New Product Development (NPD) processes.
  • Practical engineering skills and good workshop practice are essential.
Salary:

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
