We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Library Assistant at the Leicestershire County Council library in Melton Mowbray. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting library users to find the information and resources they need, and delivering a high-quality service to our customers.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about libraries and has excellent communication and customer service skills. You will work closely with the library supervisor and other team members to deliver a high-quality service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with shelving and displaying books and other materials
  • Deliver library events such as IT tasters and sessions for under 5's
  • Develop and implement promotional activities to engage library users

You will also be required to work flexibly, including Saturdays, and possess the ability to work in a team environment.

Requirements:
  • ECDL or ITQ level 2 qualification or equivalent practical experience
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of £25,188 - £25,590 per annum (pro rata for part-time), as well as a range of benefits, including flexible working hours and opportunities for professional development.
