About the Role

As a Functional Assessor, you'll carry out assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life. You'll produce factual reports to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. This will include PIP assessments and Work Capability Assessments (WCA).

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out functional assessments to understand the impact of a person's disability or health condition on their daily life
  • Produce detailed reports to support the DWP's decision-making process
  • Work with complex cases involving physical and mental health conditions and chronic pain disorders
  • Use computer software to type and produce reports
Requirements
  • NMC-registered adult or mental health nurse with at least 1 year's broad post-registration experience in the UK
  • Proactive and keen learner with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Comfortable using computer software
  • Expert clinician experienced in working with a diverse range of conditions
