About the Role

As a Functional Assessor, you'll conduct thorough assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life. You'll produce detailed reports to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. This will include PIP assessments and Work Capability Assessments (WCA) from September.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of individuals with physical and mental health conditions, including chronic pain disorders
  • Produce high-quality, factual reports to support benefit eligibility decisions
  • Work independently, with the support of a dedicated team
  • Develop your skills and expertise through ongoing training and professional development
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • NMC registration as an adult or mental health nurse
  • At least 1 year's post-registration experience in the UK
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of conditions, including complex cases
  • Proficiency in using computer software to produce detailed reports
