The Role

We're seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of experience as a Software Engineer, a high level of pragmatism, and strong planning and prioritization skills.

The successful candidate will be able to create and design modular, scalable, testable, tested, and performant systems. They will also be able to identify root cause system issues and determine short and long-term resolutions.

We're looking for someone who is adaptable and flexible, able to work and intervene on the whole life cycle of the software. Our tech stack includes Python, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Flask, Postgres, BigQuery, DBT, Redis, MongoDB, GCP, RabbitMQ, Amazon S3, Terraform, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Incident.io, and Sentry.

What to Expect from Our Hiring Process
  1. A 30-minute call with our Talent Acquisition Team to discuss your career plan and our company.
  2. A 45-minute call with our Engineering Lead to discuss the role and your skills.
  3. A 120-minute live coding call with our engineers, including a system design exercise and an implementation phase.
  4. A 30-minute team call with a Product Manager and a Senior Manager from Engineering to discuss the business and envision yourself as part of Plum.
