Manufacturing Process Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Methods Engineer to join our team at Williams. As a Methods Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective production of high-quality components for our Formula One cars.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes and methodologies to improve efficiency, cost, and quality.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure that design choices are optimized for manufacturing and production.
- Embed a culture of Design for Manufacture (DFM) into the engineering design process.
- Optimize routing flow for efficiency, cost, and quality improvements.
- Maintain standard time in routings to enable successful scheduling in operations.
- Participate in Manufacture Process Improvement (MPI) and Non-Conformance Report (NCR) closure and preventative actions.
- Own the manufacturing processes, ensuring they are clearly defined and communicated.
- Benchmark processes and performance against best-in-class.
- Engage with engineers, technicians, and suppliers to refine specifications of future technology and support the development of equipment and business capability.
- Provide clear manufacturing instructions to suppliers and support them in interpreting and conforming to Williams' specifications.
- Work with the Quality team to ensure manufacturing compliance with company quality procedures and develop these as required.
Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Manufacturing/Production Engineering or a deep technical background and experience in production environments.
- Experience in motorsport, automotive, or aerospace/defence type components and projects would be beneficial.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting tight deadlines and short lead times in a small volume manufacturing environment.
- Sound knowledge of Composites and Metallic components and assemblies with the methods in which they are manufactured and processed.
- Self-motivated and able to work to deadlines with minimal supervision and instruction.
- Excellent Communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
