**About the Role:**

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Local Programmes Team as a Waste Education and Outreach Specialist. This role will involve developing and delivering programmes of waste education activity across the South Tyne and Wear Partnership area.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successful project development and delivery, backed with relevant qualifications. Experience of waste and recycling initiatives and a passion for working in local communities is essential.

About You:

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and has excellent communication skills. The ability to work autonomously and engage with school visits and community ownership is crucial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a programme of waste education sessions suitable for a range of centre users
  • Engage and encourage school visits and community ownership
  • Work closely with the Local Programmes Team to achieve organisational objectives

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in project development and delivery
  • Relevant qualifications in environmental or educational fields
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team

Working Conditions:

This role will be based at the South Tyne and Wear Waste Management Partnership's Visitor and Education Centre, operating Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

Salary: £26,865 - £29,927 per annum
