Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance/Facilities Person to join our multi-skilled facilities team based in Huddersfield, providing support to other sites within the wider estate.

This is a challenging role that requires strong technical knowledge and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building maintenance or a related field, with a solid understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preventative Maintenance: Schedule and carry out inspections on infrastructure systems, documenting tasks and maintaining records for equipment efficiency.
  • General Repairs: Diagnose and resolve issues with electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, repairing or replacing components as needed.
  • Safety and Compliance: Conduct regular safety inspections, identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions while maintaining accurate records.
  • Emergency Repairs: Respond promptly to emergencies, including power outages, plumbing issues, and HVAC malfunctions, coordinating with external vendors when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in building maintenance or a related field
  • Excellent working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Experience with job ticketing systems like Jira is an advantage
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to adapt quickly
  • Physical demands include standing for prolonged periods, climbing ladders, and working in various environments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with peers, contractors, and management
