Job Opportunity: Head of Humanities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Humanities to join our team at an Outstanding Mixed School in Newham. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Humanities department and teaching at KS3 & KS4.

About the Role

The Head of Humanities will be responsible for:

  • Leading the Humanities department and developing curriculum and assessment strategies
  • Teaching at KS3 & KS4 and contributing to the development of the school's curriculum
  • Working closely with the senior leadership team to develop and implement school policies and initiatives
  • Mentoring and supporting colleagues to improve teaching and learning

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A formal teaching qualification with QTS (i.e. PGCE)
  • Experience of teaching at KS3 & KS4 and leading a Humanities department
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development
