Maidstone, Kent, United Kingdom Kent County Council Full time

We are seeking an experienced Social Work Specialist to join our Adolescent Services team at Kent County Council. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with adolescents and their families, empowering them to develop effective long-term solutions to manage family relationships and overcome the risks associated with adolescence.

As a Senior Practitioner, you will build trust with hard-to-reach young people, working collaboratively with families and wider networks to identify safe alternatives when necessary. Your expertise in assessment, child protection, and contextual harm will be invaluable in this role, as you work across multiple areas including Court work and rehabilitation homes.

We invest heavily in our core offer to staff, providing evidence-based training in case formulation, contextual safeguarding, and trauma-informed approaches. Our flexible working policies, generous annual leave package, and employee support initiatives promote staff wellbeing and career development.

To succeed in this role, you will require a degree in social work (CQSW, DipSW or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. Proven experience working with children and families is essential, along with a passion for supporting those affected by adverse life events. A willingness to learn and develop as a practitioner is also crucial.

The estimated salary for this position is £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience. We encourage applications from qualified candidates who share our commitment to delivering exceptional services to vulnerable populations.
