Job Title: Senior Tax Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Associate to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a Senior Tax Associate, you will play a key role in providing expert tax advice and support to our clients.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a global property development firm who are an industry leader in their field. The firm provides modern housing and apartment solutions that cater for a range of demographics across the UK. As a Senior Tax Associate, you will be responsible for providing ad hoc support across all taxes on both tax compliance and tax project work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing initial drafts of monthly VAT returns for review by the Senior Manager Indirect Tax Manager
  • Undertaking control checks on VAT returns
  • Handling corporation tax returns through inputting trial balances onto the tax system
  • Managing VAT and corporation tax records and dealing with HMRC correspondence
  • Assisting with all tax compliance through communication with HMRC
  • Maintaining robust tax records and processes
Requirements
  • Fully or part qualified ATT and / or CTA or equivalent qualifications by experience
  • Good knowledge of VAT and practical experience of dealing with VAT issues, or experience / awareness of Corporate Tax
  • Ability to work to deadlines and take ownership over processes
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and proficiency in MS Word/Excel

  • Salary of £27,000 to £37,000 depending on experience
