About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Product Associate - Payments to join our team at JP Morgan Chase Bank, National Association. As a key member of our Payments technology team, you will play a critical role in developing and delivering innovative payment solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather and Write Product Requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and write product requirements, ensuring that they are aligned with our product vision and customer needs.
  • Work with Engineering Organization: Work closely with our engineering organization to ensure quality software deliveries, aligning with product visions and customer needs.
  • Contribute to API Designs: Contribute to the design of APIs and play an active role in designing a product development process that engages customer feedback and insights frequently.
  • Own Key Customer Experiences: Own key customer experiences, with a deep understanding of their jobs-to-be-done and pain points from sales engagements, all the way to business-as-usual post-launch operations.
  • Establish Requirement Gathering and Record Keeping Methodology: Establish a requirement gathering and record keeping methodology to roll-out required charging mechanisms.
  • Assist with Defining Operating Model: Assist with defining the operating model, procedures, and R&Rs for the management of connected payment schemes and other technology partnerships.
  • Work with Payment Clearing Schemes and Networks: Work with payment clearing schemes and networks on areas requiring certification, such as evidencing operational processes and implementing security standards.
  • Assist with Product Management Functions: Assist with product management functions such as new business approvals process, product reviews, policy and compliance checks for both product and complementary operational processes, market research, and go-to-market activities.
  • Participate in Agile Ceremonies: Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning and stand-ups.
Requirements
  • Experience in Product Management: Some experience in a product management role, ideally working with Payments SaaS platforms in B2B businesses.
  • Experience with Platform/API Products: Experience with platform/API products and related system design concepts in order to help translate the needs and requirements of the customers into well-designed services.
  • Exposure to Payment Schemes: Exposure to one or more domestic or cross-border payment schemes.
  • Basic Understanding of Regulatory Requirements: Basic understanding of additional rigour around regulatory and audit requirements that banks are subjected to.
  • Self-Starter: Self-starter, keen to take independent ownership and responsibility in their role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Financial Messaging: Knowledge of financial messaging, e.g. SWIFT MTxxx, ISO20022.
  • Experience with Clearing and Settlement Mechanisms: Experience working with directly with clearing and settlement mechanisms (CSMs).
  • Transaction Banking Industry Qualifications: Transaction banking industry qualifications, e.g. ACT/ICM, SWIFT.
  • Project Management/Delivery Qualifications: Project management/delivery qualifications, e.g. Prince2, Agile.
  • Knowledge of External Transaction Banking Landscape: Knowledge of the external transaction banking landscape, key players (inc. banks, PSPs, fintech, vendors), legislative environment (Open Banking, PSD2/3 etc).
