Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Medical Engineering Team Manager to join our team at the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of engineers, providing specialist advice to clinical teams, and ensuring the safe and effective management of medical equipment.

You will be expected to:

  • Communicate with and provide specialist advice to clinical teams, senior managers, and colleagues regarding the life cycle of a wide range of medical devices.
  • Undertake testing and repair of a wide range of medical equipment.
  • Undertake a range of duties in a deputising role for the EBME Manager.
  • Supervise work plans and work of junior staff.
  • Assist in identifying and managing risk associated with medical equipment and support investigation of medical device related incidents.
  • Act as a mentor and oversee training and CPD for engineers of all grades ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Assist in monitoring key performance standards associated with both internal and external work plans.

You will plan your own workload and that of the Engineering Team. You will have responsibility for communications and relationships with internal and external customers to ensure optimal function and performance of medical services.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A B Eng. in Electronics or equivalent experience, plus specialist training and experience to post-grad. Diploma or equivalent level.
  • Certificate in supervisory management or equivalent experience.
  • Manufacturer accredited training course certificates.

In addition, you will have:

  • Experience of supervising teams to achieve stated performance targets and outcomes.
  • Supporting colleagues to meet CPD and training targets.
  • Planning and implementing personal development reviews.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £60,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including:
