About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Engineering Team Leader to join our team at the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Medical Device Service, you will play a vital role in leading our engineering team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality medical devices to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and manage a team of engineers to achieve stated performance targets and outcomes.
  2. Support colleagues to meet their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and training targets.
  3. Plan and implement personal development reviews for team members.
  4. Undertake testing and repair of a wide range of medical equipment.
  5. Communicate with clinical teams, senior managers, and colleagues regarding the life cycle of medical devices.
  6. Supervise work plans and work of junior staff.
  7. Assist in identifying and managing risk associated with medical equipment and supporting investigation of medical device-related incidents.
  8. Act as a mentor and oversee training and CPD for engineers of all grades.
  9. Assist in monitoring key performance standards associated with both internal and external work plans.

Requirements

  • B Eng. in Electronics or equivalent experience, plus specialist training and experience to post-grad. Diploma or equivalent level.
  • Certificate in supervisory management or equivalent experience.
  • Manufacturer accredited training course certificates.
  • Full clean UK driving licence.
