Job Overview

This Special Needs Education Professional role is based at GSL Education - Southampton, supporting students with diverse special needs.

  • Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum.

The successful candidate will have a commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN practices and strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement strategies to support students with diverse special needs, especially those with autism or social/emotional needs to reach their maximum potential.
  • Cooperate with teachers and fellow SEN Teaching Assistants to foster an inclusive atmosphere conducive to learning.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment by assisting with behaviour management and fostering a sense of belonging among students.
  • Offer one-on-one assistance to students with special needs.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with autism or social/emotional needs.
  • A patient and nurturing approach to working with children.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one.
