About the Role

Compass is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Leader to join our Mental Health Support Team (MHST) in Birmingham. As a Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in leading and shaping the services we provide to children, young people, and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of practitioners to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to further develop MHSTs, focusing on building partnerships with education settings and driving highly effective and CYPF-focused mental health and wellbeing services.
  • Manage, supervise, and innovate with practitioners in the service, ensuring high-quality delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with education settings, statutory services, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of the MHST service, including service design, implementation, and evaluation.
About the Team

Compass Birmingham MHST (Wave 12) is a new early intervention and preventative mental health and emotional wellbeing service. The service delivers evidenced-based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health needs.

Requirements
  • Relevant degree (e.g., social work, psychology, psychotherapy, nursing) or equivalent.
  • Experience of team management and/or leadership roles.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and its application in a mental health setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team, including provision of clinical/practice leadership.
  • Experience of working with children and young people with mild to moderate complex mental health needs.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with a range of stakeholders, including education settings, statutory services, and families.
