Location: Secondary School in the Borough of Hackney

Salary: £105-£115 per day

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health and Wellbeing Assistant to join our team at EdEx. The successful candidate will work closely with our SEND, Pastoral, and Safeguarding teams to provide support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor students with SEN and SEMH requirements, providing individualized support and guidance.
  • Develop strong relationships with pupils, staff, and external partners to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Plan and deliver group sessions and one-to-one support to address the needs of students.
  • Collaborate with the school's resourced provision for students with Speech, Language, and Communication needs.

Requirements:

  • A graduate with an interest in SEMH or SEN, or non-graduates with mentoring or counselling experience.
  • Previous experience or a passion for working with young people to make a positive impact on their lives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with students, staff, and external partners.
  • Hardworking, resilient, and positive attitude.
