Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Therapy Assistant to join our Women's and Men's Health Physiotherapy team. The successful candidate will work as an integral member of the team to plan and provide programmes of therapeutic activity for patients, within the framework laid down by therapists.

Main Duties
  • Assist in the provision of care to patients, supported and supervised by a physiotherapist, and be accountable at all times to a registered practitioner.
  • Deliver antenatal and postnatal education groups, in both face-to-face and online settings, to support women with pelvic health conditions during pregnancy and the post-partum period.
  • Work under indirect supervision to independently give pre-defined advice to women in the maternity setting, including both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • After a period of training, be responsible for the initial assessment of post-natal patients in line with guidelines, for conditions such as obstetric anal sphincter injuries, diastasis rectus abdominus, pelvic floor conditions, and post-natal pelvic girdle pain.
  • Maintain clinical records in line with Trust and professional standards, and establish and maintain effective working relationships within relevant multidisciplinary teams.
