Beacon Support Ltd. Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Specialist Autism Mentor to join our team at Beacon Support Ltd. The successful candidate will provide one-to-one support to students with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) in their higher education studies.

About the Role:

  • Provide tailored support to students with ASC, helping them to develop coping strategies and techniques to overcome their disability-related difficulties.
  • Work collaboratively with students to build on their strengths, avoid negativity, and develop confidence and organisational skills.
  • Support students in managing their workload and dealing with issues that impact upon study.
  • Develop and implement individualised Mentor Action Plans (MAPs) to framework sessions and negotiate responsibilities and expectations.

Requirements:

  • Hold a degree at minimum and have had comprehensive training in adult autism.
  • Have experience of working with students in higher or further education.
  • Hold relevant qualifications or certifications in autism training, such as NAS 6 modules and SPELL course.
