Beacon Support Ltd. is Recruiting Specialist Mentors for Higher Education Students

We are seeking highly skilled and compassionate individuals to join our team as Specialist Mentors for students with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) in higher education. As a Specialist Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students to overcome their disability-related difficulties and achieve their academic goals.

About the Role:

  • Provide one-to-one support to students with ASC, helping them to develop coping strategies and techniques to overcome their difficulties.
  • Work closely with students to identify their strengths and areas for improvement, and develop personalized plans to support their academic success.
  • Collaborate with other support services to ensure a comprehensive and joined-up approach to supporting students with ASC.
  • Contribute to the development of a dynamic and supportive learning environment that promotes the inclusion and well-being of all students.

Requirements:

  • Hold a degree at minimum, with comprehensive training in adult autism.
  • Have experience of working with students in higher or further education, ideally in a mentoring or support role.
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of students.
  • Hold relevant qualifications or certifications in autism training, such as the NAS 6 modules and SPELL course.
