Senior Structural Design Engineer - Ground Mounted Solar Products

Estimated salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Design Engineer to lead our design and technical team in delivering innovative solutions for ground-mounted solar arrays. As a key member of our team, you will inspire and lead a multidisciplinary team, ensuring projects not only meet but exceed technical and industry standards.

About the Role
  • Design and analyse structural systems for ground-mounted solar arrays, ensuring compliance with industry codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Conduct site assessments to evaluate soil conditions, topography, and other factors influencing structural design.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and construction professionals to deliver comprehensive solar installation plans.
  • Produce precise engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations for structural components and foundations.
  • Utilise cutting-edge structural analysis software to assess load capacities, stress levels, and overall performance.
  • Provide expert technical guidance to installation teams, resolving structural challenges during the construction phase.
  • Oversee quality assurance inspections to guarantee adherence to design specifications and industry standards.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in structural engineering and solar energy.
Your Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in structural engineering, including at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role within the renewable energy sector (solar experience is highly preferred).
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software such as Dlubal RFEM 6, RWIND, Tekla Tedds, and design tools like AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and standards related to structural design and construction.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
