Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant with Healthcare Expertise

Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a healthcare background to join our team at Prospero Teaching. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a classroom setting. With your background in healthcare, you will bring a unique skill set to the role, ensuring students receive the tailored support they need to thrive in their education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with a variety of SEN, including autism, ADHD, physical disabilities, and emotional/behavioral needs.
  • Work closely with teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and contribute to students learning.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support, ensuring students are fully engaged in the lesson.
  • Assist with personal care, mobility, and any medical needs, using your healthcare expertise.
  • Promote positive behavior and create a safe, supportive environment for learning.
  • Liaise with parents, teachers, and healthcare professionals to ensure consistent care and progress.
  • Help with classroom activities, including preparing resources and ensuring a safe learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Healthcare Background: You may have worked in roles such as nursing, care assistance, occupational therapy, or any role that has given you experience with personal care and supporting others.
  • Enhanced DBS check (ideally on the Update Service; we can process a new one if necessary).
  • A recognised Childcare-based qualification is preferred, but not essential.
  • Provide two professional child-related references that cover the last two years.
