Commercial Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Superintendent to join our team at Northern Marine Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessels, as well as maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure all vessels under management are operated in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Monitor and report on vessel performance, including safety, maintenance, and operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve vessel performance and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with the Fleet Manager to ensure effective communication and coordination between ship and shore-based staff.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to vessel staff and management.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
- Manage and coordinate vessel maintenance and repair activities, including scheduling and budgeting.
- Monitor and report on vessel expenditure, including costs associated with maintenance, repairs, and operations.
- Assist the Fleet Manager in the preparation of annual operating cost budgets and ensure accurate forecasting of vessel costs.
- Qualifications to perform as a key member of the shipboard management team, including experience as a second engineer or chief officer.
- At sea experience with experience as part of the onboard management team (SMT).
- Onshore experience at Shipping Company – Operations.
- Knowledge of ISM/ISPS/MLC.
- Keen knowledge of vessel operations, technical to include safety procedures in either chemical, oil, gas tankers operations.
- Good financial knowledge of budgets and maintaining cost control whilst maintaining the company standards of safety and quality.
- Unlimited Chief Engineer or Master Mariners Certificate of Competency in compliance with STCW II/2.
- Degree in marine engineering or nautical science related subjects.
- Sailing experience as chief engineer or Master.
This role offers the opportunity for Hybrid working and is dependent on commercial demands.
