Job Summary

The Financial Communications and Media Manager will be responsible for ensuring SGS receives regular coverage from financial and corporate media outlets. This includes producing regular press releases targeting a financial audience and interacting with journalists specializing in business and economy.



Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive financial communications strategy to enhance SGS's reputation and visibility in the market.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key media contacts in Switzerland and international markets.
  • Produce high-quality press releases and other written content to effectively communicate SGS's message to financial and corporate audiences.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and support SGS's business narrative.
  • Monitor and report on SGS's reputation in the media, working closely with the Digital Analytics team.
  • Contribute to other areas of the communications team as required, including internal communications, editorial & publications, crisis management, event management, and investor relations.


Requirements

  • Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to think strategically and understand the complexities of different industries and target audiences.
  • Experience working in financial communications, corporate communications, or business media, with a strong network of media contacts.
  • Excellent English language skills, with native or bilingual proficiency, and professional working proficiency in German.
  • Experience working in an international environment and understanding complex organizations.


Location

This position can be based in Switzerland, Paris, Madrid, Bristol, or London, with regular business travel expected, particularly to Geneva if not based in this city.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, communications, or a related field.
  • 5-10+ years of experience in financial communications, corporate communications, or business media.
  • Excellent network of Swiss and international media contacts, including journalists specializing in business and economy.
  • Required English (native or bilingual proficiency) and German (professional working proficiency), fluent French is nice to have.
  • Experience working in an international environment and understanding complex organizations.
