Financial Controller Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our Finance Team at The Children's Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting systems, treasury management, and accounts payable processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the accuracy and integrity of our general ledger
  • Lead internal controls, including prompt reconciliations of control accounts, separation of duties, and compliance with prescribed systems of authorization
  • Assist in preparing annual accounts, in compliance with the SORP and relevant GAAP, and liaise with external and internal auditors
  • Lead in preparing the annual cash flow forecast and monthly reconciliations between forecast and actual
  • Manage bank reconciliations and posting of transactions
  • Oversee month-end processes and journals
  • Manage the purchase ledger function, ensuring the ledger is kept clean and at an acceptable level
  • Assist with credit control, in liaison with relevant service leads, supported by KPIs
  • Oversee the Fundraising Accountant role, ensuring accuracy of reconciliations between Fundraising and Finance
  • Manage the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring its accuracy
  • Submit quarterly VAT returns and VAT reconciliations
