Automation Systems Specialist

The Controls Integrator plays a pivotal role in bringing together multiple elements of a project to create a cohesive system. This position requires a strong technical background and excellent project coordination skills to ensure smooth factory acceptance testing and site acceptance testing.
Key Responsibilities- Test and configure equipment for site use
- Assist with controls system commissioning
- Lead controls/electrical maintenance and site works as needed
- Perform inspections at client sites, identify controls/electrical problems, and implement solutions within budget
- Install lifting systems safely
- Prepare technical and inspection documentation
- Maintain accurate records and logs of work
- Travel to client sites, possibly internationally, to support clients and projects
- Assist with specifying and planning of works, including basic electrical design
- Control system commissioning
- Diagnose and resolve issues, reporting back to stakeholders
- Contribute to knowledge management and sharing within the team and departments
- Ensure successful handover of projects to integration
- Coordinate integration of disparate elements into one cohesive project
- Communicate with project teams about tasks and risks
- Participate in field engineering and installation, implementing technology on site for customers
- Perform shop testing and setup for complex elements
- Maintain a basic understanding of integration-related technical fields
- Develop expert knowledge in one or more integration-related technical fields
- Promote and contribute to internal standards and processes
- Collaborate with the global integration team and other departments to ensure smooth operations and economic success
- Demonstrate diplomatic effort to improve operations, streamline work processes, and provide excellent customer service
- Establish and maintain good relationships with clients, stagehands, electricians, project managers, and other personnel
- Adhere to TAIT Health & Safety and Integration policies and procedures
- Experience working with complex entertainment automation machinery
- Knowledge of entertainment/industrial automation technology and equipment
- Working knowledge of PLC programming and control theory
- Entertainment rigging and components
- Ability to diagnose equipment failure and analyze issues
- Understanding of mechanical systems
