Automation Systems Specialist

The Automation Systems Specialist is a key member of our team, responsible for integrating multiple elements of a project into a cohesive system. This role plays a critical technical role in all aspects of the project life cycle, ensuring smooth and effective factory acceptance testing and site acceptance testing.
Responsibilities:- Test, configure, and prepare equipment for use on site.
- Assist with controls system commissioning.
- Lead controls/electrical maintenance and site works as needed.
- Perform inspections at client sites, identify controls/electrical problems, configure solutions, and instigate the resolution within budget to TAIT standards.
- Install lifting systems safely.
- Prepare technical and inspection documentation.
- Ensure all final reports, documentation, and tickets are kept in order and up to date, logging all work appropriately.
- Travel to client sites, possibly internationally, to support clients and projects.
- Assist with specifying and planning of works, including basic electrical design.
- Control system commissioning.
- Diagnose, review, and prioritize issue resolution, reporting back to stakeholders.
- Contribute to knowledge management and sharing by creating and contributing to learning materials and manuals within the team and between departments.
- Engage with project teams to ensure successful handover of projects to integration.
- Coordinate the integration of disparate elements into one cohesive project.
- Communicate frequently with the project team about tasks and risks.
- Participate in field engineering and installation, implementing technology on site for the customer.
- Perform shop testing and setup responsibilities, especially for complex elements.
- Maintain a basic understanding of all integration-related technical fields.
- Develop expert knowledge of one or more integration-related technical fields.
- Promote and contribute to internal standards and processes.
- Participate in the global integration team and work with other departments to ensure the smooth running and economic success of the company and generate new business.
- Demonstrate continuous diplomatic effort to improve operations, streamline work processes, and provide excellent customer service.
- Establish and cultivate good relationships with clients, stagehands, electricians, project managers, and other personnel.
- Follow TAIT Health & Safety and Integration policies and procedures.
- Experience working with complex, large entertainment automation machinery.
- Knowledge and understanding of entertainment/industrial automation technology and equipment.
- Working knowledge of PLC programming and control theory.
- Entertainment rigging and components.
- Ability to conduct equipment failure diagnosis and analysis.
- Understanding of mechanical systems.
