A well-regarded secondary school in Levenshulme is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Maths Teacher to join their team. This full-time maternity cover position begins in January, providing a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a diverse and supportive school environment.

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for teaching Maths at Key Stages 3 and 4. You will deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Mathematics that meet national curriculum standards, encouraging a strong foundation in mathematical principles and problem-solving skills.

You will develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the varied learning styles and abilities within the classroom, using differentiation techniques to ensure each student can achieve their best.

Student assessment and feedback are also crucial aspects of this role. You will regularly assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments, using data to inform teaching strategies and provide constructive feedback to help students excel.

To prepare students for GCSE examinations, you will support them with revision guidance, exam techniques, and targeted support in areas of need. Additionally, you will foster a classroom environment that is inclusive, respectful, and conducive to active learning, encouraging students to participate and develop confidence in Maths.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in Mathematics or a closely related field. Prior experience teaching Maths at the secondary level, with a solid understanding of the Key Stage 3 and 4 Maths curriculum, is essential.

You must have a passion for teaching and a commitment to inspiring and engaging students in Mathematics. Adaptability and resilience are also key qualities required for this role, as you will need to adjust teaching strategies to meet individual student needs and maintain motivation, even in challenging situations.

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this role is £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. Please note that all pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
